All leather used by Ravens Caw is sourced from Australian Tannieries. We do not source any leather from overseas suppliers

If a Custom order requires a specific exocitic leather and our suppliers cannot source it.  We may seek to import that leather for that order

We believe in supporting local and Australian Suppliers

Why don't you use Genuine Leather?

Genuine Leather is a inferior product and often termed the chipboard of leather due to it being leather particles and dust glued and pressed to resemble genuine leather like chip board reflects timber

Ravens Caw only uses full grain or top grain leather

Do you use any solvent based products in your products

No we do not use any solvent or petroleum based products in our goods, we only used water based adhesives and dyes, surfaces are burnished with a vegetable gum product

What type of leather do you use - Veg Tanned or Chrome Tanned

Ravens Caw preferes to use veg tanned leather as it a more natural product that can be used and customised to suit a clients needs

Veg Tanned Leather has been tanned following a more natural process which results in the leather fibres remaining loose  and can be dyed, stamped, carved and burnished

Chrome tanned leather is produced quicker and followes a more chemcial reaction to tan the leather which reults in the leather tanning process fininshing quicker - how ever the leather fibre tightens up which prevents alot of customisation with inth leather product such as stamping etc

Some components of our products are made out of chrome leather and these are identified with each of our customers
